This team was first set up in August 2007. Manager Andrew Georgeson was appointed team coach and the development of Kingsley United Under 7s began.
At first it was a struggle to bring players into the set up, but by the first game of the season, Andy has a squad of 9 players, and an impressive one at that. It is here that Andrew and the team began adopting the style of play they inhabit today.
Manager Andrew has always wanted to create and team that was organised and fluid in passing and moving, and once the team has quickly picked up the basics of football, the team slowly began learning the complex art of passing, space and decision making. The first season was a success, with all but one of the starting squad still in tact and the team finished an impressive 5th place out of 12th and reached the semi final of the divisional cup.
Summer time approached and the team entered the Halewood Summer league. The team now has another coach with Andy Wright and Jack Evans jumping aboard the Kingsley bandwagon. Together the 3 coaches pushed the team towards a 'total footballing' side, aiming to create players that could adapt into numerous positions, and it seemed to work with the team reach another domestic league semi final and finishining in 4th place out of 12 in the summer league.
New players were brought in that summer and some players unfortunatly left, however this had left the coaches with a squad of 14 promising players and a team that looked to be developing the concept of passing football. The pre season training sessions that summer were hard and long, and the players were tested in learning more developed movement off the ball, link up play and the idea of creating angles for passes.
As the 2008/2009 season started, the team looked sharp, with new signings adding strength and depth to a complete squad now. The boys faded in the winter and this tested the coaches to try and find new positions for out of form players and get the team back into winning ways. Jack Evans left the team, leaving his organised defence training. A new face was to appear in the coaching staff, and Paris Harding stepped in, and was a hit with the lads. Paris added skill training and ball control to the team which added to their game and that season the lads went on to an emphatic cup win, and finishing 4th place in the league.
Another season in the summer league would prepare the team for the start of the 2009/2010 season, and the lads had aimed to win the league this year. A promising start to the campaign saw the lads hit top spot and stick there for numerous weeks, again reaching the semi final of the cup. A few unfortunate results however lead the team into second, and they finished their joint with another team, however an impressive development.
The lads were again tested pre season, and with the team staying as it was, the coaches had a good knowledge of the squad now. Passing football became a Kingsley trait in this team, and in training and matches they looked to link up and pass more, breaking down teams and attacking regardless of who we faced.
The 2009/2010 is near enough at an end, and the lads have done what they do best, reached two semi finals, adding to the impressive statistic now that the club has never failed to reach a semi final in any cup competition in 3 seasons. Winning their Champions League Group has placed the team in a strong position for the cup and the lads are currently chasing 3rd place in the league. Josh Hale, previous coach of the Kingsley Under 10 side has been brought in with staggering results, and the coaching team are pushing for that 'total football' team, similar to a 1980's Holland set up.
